Designed to embrace the changes taking place in your body, this class will combine energizing movements, breathing, meditation and creative visualization, ending with a guided deep relaxation. Open to all stages and levels of yoga experience. Alex Duchscher, who has been teaching since 2002, incorporates Vinyasa Flow and Kripalu’s Hatha style of yoga into her pre-natal classes. She taught throughout her pregnancy last year, which gave her unique insights to share with her pregnant students.

Hot Stone Restorative Journey at Studio Anjali
Studio Anjali will be offering its 2nd installment of the amazing new Hot Stone Restorative Journey this Sunday, Jan. 19th, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Created by Studio Anjali Yoga Director Suzanne Oliver, the Hot Stone Restorative Journey is a brand new offering that blends traditional restorative yoga with heated river stone massage. It utilizes heated river stones and restorative yoga postures to cultivate an intense state of calm and focus from which deep healing will occur. As you are guided from posture to posture, your energetic body will explore avenues of openness and the chakra system will become harmonious and balanced. You will be held and supported by blankets, bolsters and blocks and adorned by heated river stones for sustained periods of time in deeply rejuvenating postures.

Paula Cole at Vilar Center
Beaver Creek's Vilar Center will host Grammy winner Paula Cole this Wednesday evening for a special 7:30 p.m. show. Colre has sold more than 3 million albums and has performed with top musicians like the Counting Crows, Melissa Etheridge, Peter Gabriel and Emmy Lou Harris. Whether training for an Ironman or XTERRA competition or simply to stay in shape, the Masters Swim program will provide expert instruction in the pool to help you improve your technique and gain confidence. Taught by Steve Croucher, this three-part program will cater to beginner swimmers at 8 a.m. and intermediate/advanced swimmers at 9 a.m. on the following dates:
- January 11 - Correct body position and posture and proper turn form
- February 22 - Focus on hand positioning, breaking down your kick and the sweep-to-catch transition
- March 15 - Analyzing ways to generate more power, the best breathing and cadence patterns and finding your inner sprinting speed. Overview of open water sighting techniques and strategy.
The Masters Swim pricing is $30 per class, or $65 for all three sessions. Athletic Club members can participate for $20 per class, or $45 for all three sessions. Private video analysis is also available for $15 per half hour.
The Athletic Club at The Westin is also offering a three-part Indoor Triathlon Series starting in January. Open to all levels, this is a chance to give triathlons a try in a fun and supportive environment. Each hour-long session will be broken down into a 10 minute swim, a 20 minute ride on the CompuTrainer or stationary bike and a 15 minute run on the treadmill.
The Indoor Triathlon Series will be held at 4 p.m. on January 12th, February 23rd and March 16th.
The pricing is $30 per event or $80 for the series. Athletic Club at The Westin members can participate for $25 per event or $65 for the series.
