Independence Day We're gearing up for a busy holiday weekend! This Sunday night is one of our favorite nights of the year - The Westin Riverfront Salute to the USA fireworks celebration! Don't miss the Rockies largest fireworks showing featuring 10,000 shells exploding over Avon's gorgeous Nottingham Lake, which is just a short walk from The Westin. The annual Independence Day celebration will begin at 5 p.m. with great music, fantastic food and a Coors beer garden. A great big FREE Family Zone will offer families carnival games, inflatable jumping toys and face painting. DJ Harry takes the stage at 7:30 p.m. to dazzle the crowd with his turntable expertise and then the spectacular display will kick off at 9:45 p.m. and will be choreographed to a musical score simulcast on 97.7 KZYR The Zephyr. Restaurant Avondale is joining in the celebration with cold drinks, pizzas and Larkburgers on the patio starting at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday. Avondale is also hosting an All-American Celebration that night complete with a Champagne Salute, a huge buffet featuring BBQ Baby Back Ribs and Buttermilk Fried Chicken, and live music by BLT and other special guests. Two seatings are available - 6 p.m. - 6:45 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. Reservations are required: 970-790-5500. |

Tough Mudder
We're excited for this weekend's Tough Mudder race here in Beaver Creek! Described as "Ironman meets Burning Man," this 9 mile obstacle course is designed to test competitors' toughness, fitness, strength, stamina and mental grit! Good luck to everyone participating - we will see you in the hot tubs afterwards for a long soak.

Summer in Beaver Creek! Beaver Creek's Centennial Express Lift opens for scenic chairlift rides this Saturday, June 11th. The lift will run from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily until Sept. 5 and is the perfect way to enjoy a hike, mountain bike ride or simply experience the beautiful Rocky Mountain views. Enjoy an outdoor lunch at the Spruce Saddle Lodge. Costs to ride the lift is $24 per day for adults and free for kids age 5-12. |

Avon's Nottingham Park Cabin
Avon's Harry A. Nottingham Park Cabin is now open for the summer season! Open daily for 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., available activities include paddle boat rentals, fishing, concession sales and summer sporting equipment rentals. Nottingham Pak is just a short walk from The Westin Riverfront, be sure to check it out!
Ride the Rockies
The annual Ride the Rockies bicycle tour will be coming through the Vail Valley on June 13th. More than 2,400 rides are expected to participate in this year's bike race, which covers 412 miles of gorgeous Colorado scenery from Crested Butte to Georgetown. They will be riding through Avon next Monday afternoon and then spending the night in nearby Edwards - come by to help cheer them on!
